Social Issues in Education

Fellow educators, there are many issues in education that socially impact our children, parents, achievement, teachers, the school at large, and the community itself. Your team will choose one of the preselected educational issues and create a presentation to present the rest of the teams.

*THIS WILL BE YOUR MIDTERM GRADE

Remember, a school issue is a societal issue, and if our schools do not improve, neither will our society. Your presentation should include:

(Paper, 12 inch font, Times New Roman, min 2 pages including the below components)

-The facts of the social issue, including a synopsis of the social issue (cite current research/statistics)

-Discuss both positive and negative effects resulting from the social issue, or resulting from not having the issue (if negative).

-Create achieveable solutions. How do you address the problem, how do you fix the problem?

The Presentation

-Billboard of Visuals
-Poster with Facts
-Create a commercial/Ad

Welcome!

I am VERY excited to work with all of you another year. We will have a very successful year. Besides the basic curriculum, we will also participate in Future Point, The Buddies, College Tours, and more.

The newest addition to our program is the Online Blog. Many of your assignments will take place on the blog. First, I want you to set up your own Blog page for UTAP (which should only be used for UTAP). I want you to complete a Bio of yourself on your Blog page. We will talk more about this in class.

Yours,
Mr. F-Jones
